Advice to Women:
You are only limited by the limits you place on yourself. If a person truly wants to "make a difference," they will accomplish it through prayer, study, persistence and hard work.
Significant professional accomplishments:
Working in my home baking for individuals and restaurants for six years to save up enough money to go into debt enough to get my manufacturing facility and witnessing the realization of six years of research, planning, development, dreaming and saving.
This is probably tied, however, with the changes the company underwent to fill an order for 12,500 handmade cheesecakes for Cracker Barrel.
In 10 days following receipt of the order, an additional $60,000 worth of equipment was added; we started using more ingredients in one day than we had been using in two weeks; we went from four employees to 17 and from a five-day, 40-hour week to six days and two shifts.
The order was done ahead of schedule and entirely by women.
Role models:
Dr. Clyda Rent, president, Mississippi University for Women; Sandra Sanderson Chestnut, president, Sanderson Plumbing Products- and Mrs. Jean Jinks, my mother Hobbies: Cooking, French hand sewing, smocking, needlepoint, knitting, fishing and reading.
